United CEO Jeff Smisek and two senior executives have resigned, effective immediately, in connection with the airline's "internal investigation related to the federal investigation associated with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey," according to an airline press release.
Taking his place will former CSX President and COO Oscar Munoz. This is not going to be where I'll the bulk of my reporting for this story - I'll be writing something for Aviation Week - but I did receive Munoz's first letter to employees, and I thought I would embed it here.
