Have you always wanted your own Boeing 747-400?

Thai Airways is selling two of them via an auction, and I want you to have a chance to bid. Please keep in mind Thai must receive your sealed bid by 4 p.m. "Hydrographic Time Navy Department," on Oct. 9. And don't forget to commit to your 20% deposit and your $50,000 bid bond.

Assuming you meet the three key criteria - you must have a registered business, you need money and your name cannot appear on a Thai Airways blacklist - you can buy the two 747s. I believe both mostly recently were part of Thai's cargo operation.

Here are your options:

  • Registration: HS-TGH
  • Initial delivery date: 22 February 1990
  • Total Flight Hours: 104,297
  • Total Flight Cycles: 16,598
  • Max takeoff weight: 868,175 lbs.
  • Current status: Stored since 31 March 2015
  • Registration: HS-TGJ
  • Initial delivery date: 22 March 1990
  • Total Flight Hours: 100,853
  • Total Flight Cycles: 16,117
  • Max takeoff weight: 868,175 lbs.
  • Current status: Stored since 31 March 2015

I can't imagine what these aircraft are worth, but my guess is not much. What do you think? You could always fly to Thailand and kick the tires on these aircraft.

"The Bidder is well aware that the Bidder is welcome to perform an inspection on the Used Aircraft as well as documentation review prior to submission of the Proposal," Thai says.

Below is everything you need to know to place your bid.
