Last week, I wrote that United will be renovating several of its United Clubs at key airports, including Chicago, Washington Reagan, San Francisco and Atlanta.
Today, we learned that United will be upcoming its catering at its United Clubs. It appears United is making a formal announcement of the new menus on Wednesday, which is odd considering it invited a bunch of social media "influencers" to an event today in Chicago. This group got a sneak peak about the United Club improvements.
I'm amazed at how cyclical this business is. Airlines are making money now, and businesses are spending lots of money on travel. Airlines have decided it is time to invest in the product, at least for high-value travelers. But what happens when the economy sputters? Do carriers start cutting again?
