A 51-year-old passenger on a United Express flight Monday from Houston to Jacksonville, Fla. urinated inside coffee cups in an aircraft galley, telling police he could not wait to use the bathroom.
According to the police report, the man, seated in 1A, got up from his seat and went into the galley, shutting the curtain behind him.
The flight attendant then "got up from his seat to confront [the man] and when he opened the curtain he saw that [the man] was urinating in a coffee cup and he saw other coffee cups in the galley with urine in them," the Jacksonville Aviation Authority incident report states.
It happened at about 3:40 p.m. about 15 minutes before the flight - operated by ExpressJet airlines - reached the gate at Jacksonville International Airport.
The police report describes the man as "apologetic." According to the report, "[the man] stated that he could not wait to use the bathroom and had to relieve himself." He told police he had not meant to disrupt the flight.
Police said no other passengers actually saw the man relieving himself, which apparently made the incident a bit less serious.
After the interview, police escorted the man out of the airport, and he apparently went on with his day.
