Food pics: American's new Los Angeles-Sydney menu

American Airlines will launch new flights from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia on Dec. 17, and it wants business and first class passengers on its Boeing 777-300ERs to get excited about food menus.

At least I think so. American had a tasting in Los Angeles on Tuesday, and I was not invited. So I cannot say for sure how the food is, or who should be excited.

But no matter. I'm a sucker for in-flight food pictures, and I did a bit of a deep dive on Instagram after the event. Below is some of what I missed.

What do you think? Does it look tasty?

Most of the pics are from premium cabins, but it looks like coach food made a cameo or two.

You've probably noticed American is taking the new Australia route, its first in decades, seriously. In addition to the better food, American will be giving pajamas to first and business class passengers. (That's rare.)  And Sydney should be among the first markets to get American's new premium economy class, pictured below.
