Los Angeles International Airport is getting a new international route.
Japan Airlines will begin flying between LAX and Osaka, Japan on March 20, 2015. JAL will be using a Boeing 787 dreamliner on the route. While JAL is happy to transport Americans flying to Japan, it seems from the press release that the airline is banking on its alliance partner, American Airlines, carrying Japanese travelers onward from Los Angeles.
JAL says its Japanese customers will be able to connect to 37 cities from LAX on American. I wish those connecting passengers luck, as LAX is currently one of the worst airports in the world at which to transfer flights. (But it's getting better, eventually.)
