If you want to check in for your Allegiant Air flight at the airport starting next week, it will cost you.
Allegiant plans to levy a $5 fee on most passengers who do not check-in from home or on the airline's mobile application. Not surprisingly, the fee will not be assessed on passengers who are not permitted by the system to check-in online. It also will not be assessed at every station.
In a speech at a recent airline convention, Allegiant COO Andrew Levy said the move was made to save money --savings the airline claims it will pass on to passengers.
"We really want people to avoid generating costs for us," Levy said.
What do you think of this move? Does it make sense?
