Congratulations. You have stumbled upon my blogging experiment, briansumers.com.
You might be wondering what this is all about. The best answer is, I'm not sure. But I know that I want this space to focus on airline consumers, passengers who have helped airlines generate record profits in the past year. Though my day job focuses on the economics of airlines, I think we can have a bit more fun here. Some of you might be familiar with my previous blog, L.A. Airspace, which I created during my two years as the airlines and airports reporter at the Los Angeles Daily News. Eventually, I think you'll see many of the same features here.
You've found the blog during what I'm calling a soft launch. I'm still playing with some ideas, as well as the overall look of the site. As I get underway, I hope to post more often about issues important to travelers. I probably won't post every day for a bit, so I ask for your patience.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for the site, please contact me. I love to hear from readers, and I hope that, over time, we can develop a nice community here. (In the short term, I'm soliciting thoughts about the type colors ... is the blue and white font readable?)
Thank you for reading.
