Virgin America would like you to know it completed its millionth flight hour last week.
The big moment came during flight 1178 from San Francisco to Newark on on Friday, Nov. 14. In a release, Virgin America called it a, "historic flight," and noted that it was operated by N622VA, an aircraft it has named, 'California Dreaming.'
Virgin America, which now has 53 aircraft, started flying in August 2007.
As far as airline operations goes, there's no special significance to one million. But Virgin America launched at a difficult time, and to some analysts, it surprising the airline is still around and making money. It even launched a successful IPO last week.
So let's give Virgin America a round of applause for clocking 1 million flight hours.
