United Airlines says Android users can finally access streaming video on the carrier's Airbus A319s, Airbus A320s, Boeing 747 and some Boeing 777s.
Not having Android functionality was a major problem with the new United system, which has otherwise received good reviews. iPhones and iPads, as well as laptop computers, have been able to hook into the system, but Android users were left out.
For those not familiar, the new system allows passengers to watch airline-owned content on their own devices. To access in-flight movies on their own devices, passengers on mobile should download United's app before the flight.
United says the new streaming device entertainment system has been installed on about 200 aircraft, with more to come.
Have you used United's system? Do you like it?
