American Airlines unveils newest retrojet: Allegheny Airlines

Allegheny Airlines is back in the air.

American Airlines unveiled another of its retrojets on Friday, an aircraft painted in the old Allegheny livery.  The airline was a predecessor to US Airways, which has long painted some of its airplanes in historic liveries. These nods to history are good for employee morale, and passengers like them, too.

Incidentally, notice the hashtag on American's tweet, #GoingForGreat. As I reported last week, we'll be seeing this slogan much more in the future. Do you like the slogan?

And here's what that aircraft looked like before it was repainted in American colors. Roughly the same.
